855 N Croft is a newer construction architectural 33-unit condo building in Beverly Center near West Hollywood. Developed in 2010 by Larian Development, built by Torkian Construction, and interior design by Arroyo Interior Design.
Architect Zoltan Poli of SPF: Architects designed 855 Croft in a modern style. The building is easy to pick out from the crowd because of its Colorful deep blue exterior which is in stark contrast to traditional designed 850 N Croft across the street.
855 Croft is a new iteration of design. Noteworthy for its striking geometries and integration of indoor/outdoor space usually a special privilege only reserved for houses (which SPF designs a lot of)- this building has some of the best balconies in the city. These creative spaces subvert conventional wisdom.
The Developer didn’t get that great outdoor space without some difficulty. They need a variance from the city for rooftop decks and extra building height on the 4th floor, in exchange for the variance the developer added more vegetation at the street level to get the approval from the neighborhood. The Thick Hedges have really filled out now coming in at 10-year mark.
For context, keep in mind this building caused quite a fuss in the neighborhood when it was being built because it was quite revolutionary at that time. It had a big influence on a lot of the new Development you are seeing now in Melrose Pl, and West Hollywood Design District.

One of the things I love about 928 N Croft is the location right between Santa Monica Blvd. and Melrose Place. I don’t know why, but this building has a Santa Monica Vibe to it. I think the builder did an amazing job on the Landscaping. There is a lot of Slate tiling on the main walkway and in balconies, and sand glass. Light is good because they put in big windows.

One thing I like about these condos is the “beefy” balconies, with slate tile flooring and sand glass and stainless steel railings. You can have a BBQ out there, or plenty of space for a table and 2 chairs. Some of the condos on 2nd and 3rd floor have views.
The finishes in these condos standout- Custom Italian cabinetry by Bontempi, Cesaerstone counters, Bosch appliances. Bisazza tiles for the backsplash and bathrooms. Elica range hoods, under cabinet lighting, soft close doors, Deep soaking tubs by Zuma. Slate balcony floors. Walnut hardwood floors throughout living areas, Berber carpet in bedrooms (don’t love the berber). The master bathroom tile flooring oddly doesn’t match because it is neutral browns and the building color scheme is neutral greys. Mitsubishi Ductless HVAC, Lutron lightning dimming systems, Security video, and intercom Siedle.
